KC5MMHChecklogFirst contest ever - late start, limited time - had fabulous time!
KC6XSO HP ALLThis doing contests without a sunspot in sight is becoming monotonous! 10m was dead as per usual. Seasonal changes limited 40m and 80m although I did work a few EU stations on 40m. Heard UU7U booming in but he never heard any of us suffering west coast stations calling him. :( Plenty of loud Far East stations not listening up. 15m did have a few surprises including 6W1RW, D4C, and ZS4U although heavily SA and Caribbean. 20m was where everybody was with wall-to-wall S9+ for hours. Tough to worm in. hi. Hopefully there will be a sunspot or 2 for the CW part. C U there!
KD2MUSO LP ALLBand conditions started out pretty bad around here, alot of static crashes. Things picked up on Sat and had a great time here.

KG4WSA HP ALLI propose a "wire only" category assisted & non assisted or make "TB-WIRES" available to "assisted" class.
KG4ZDMSO LP ALLI only worked a few hours, was mainly trying to add new countries for LOTW DXCC. I had a great time, I really enjoy the professionalism and courtesy of the operators. I was successful in adding Ecuador, Northern Ireland, Lithuania, and Cape Verde.
KG6DXSO HP ALLNice to see the activity up from China.
KG9Z/8SO HP 80MPoor condx here, Local thunderstorm made it worse,.
KI4MFXSA LP ALLMy first CQWPX contest
KI7MSA HP 20Msingle band 20 mtrs high power assisted. Why is it with QRM created by contest no one ever gets FCC tickets?

KK5JYSO LP ALLGood times!
KL2RSA LP 20MOnly limited time to contest this weekend, and I decided to stick with 20m. Good turnout from the Lower 48 and JA. Pity conditions over the pole were poor for EU.
KL7AIRMSHOutstanding Contest. We upped our last years score 4x!
KP2BHSA LP ALLNoisy bands specially 40 and 80 meters but manage to work few stations on both bands, not easy with 100 watts. 21 mhz was good with USA and EU. hear some USA stations on 10 meters. congratulations to NP2KW good score.
KQ2M/1SO HP 20MGreat to be back operating in my favorite contest after a 2-year hiatus for health reasons. Tremendous activity from EU! I worked as many prefixes SB20 as I did ALLBAND at the top of the last cycle! Tnx for all the q's and mults! 73, Bob KQ2M
KS7TSO HP ALLBelieve me - anybody I worked on 40 and 75 meters was truly S-9 here. QRN level was also S-9 due to snow storm clouds. That coupled with rapid qsb sure made this one a challenge. If only everybody was as loud as 6W1SJ who was + 35 on 20!
KS9KSO LP ALLThe theme this weekend was "noise." "Noise" as in "energy that does not carry desired information." Some of the noise was caused by Mother Nature. I had to take three hours off time early Saturday evening because of nearby lightning activity. Some was caused by contesters way overdriving their transmitters. The buckshot on 15 meters was pretty bad from several of the South American stations, in some cases extending 30 kHz away from their information signal. In fact, it was so bad I switched to a different architecture receiver and inserted a 20dB pad to see if it was being generated locally. It was definitely coming from the transmitted signals. Finally, both nights I noticed that 25-30 kHz of 40 meters would have a very loud but band-limited noise, generally between 7150 and 7200. I have no idea what it was, but it made simplex operation impossible during those hours. Simplex DX on 40m is great for those with big signals, but for the second and third tier guys working split is more effective in snagging those 6 pointers. Last year I at least heard a European station on 15, none heard at all this year. Pretty much the same score and reasons/excuses as last year. This will be my last contest for a while; I'm scheduled for hand surgery right after Dayton. It will certainly be nice to be able to control two radios at the same time, again.
KT4QSO HP ALLColuld only play for a couple hours on this one.
KV4TSO HP 15MI'm looking forward to next year with some sunspots.
