| AB2NM | SO LP ALL | Great fun! Lots of activity and new stations. TNX to all the DX and good ops on the other end of the QSO. Doublet and TS-2000 worked FB. Funniest things heard: after one particularly difficult exchange (it took 3 minutes), the US ops says, 'Wow, after that I think I need a beer ...' Regarding one DX station who could not hear several strong signals, one op muttered, 'I think his amp works better than his RX.' Next year need to (1) Implement electronic logging. Paper logging is way too slow. (2) Interface radio with PC for logging (date, time, band, etc.) (3) Headset with VOX or foot-switch. (4) More and better antenna selection. (5) Track propagation accurately know the MUF and time (UTC). (6) Keep track of time active more accurately. Lost 1 hour due to inaccurate tracking (tenths of an hour.) |
