Thanks to all that worked me and see you on the next one. 73 Rick VE3BK |
VE3CUI | SO HP 160M | This is my last kick-at-the-can for 160-meters when it comes to contests for the season. Any day now I'll be rolling-up all of my ground radials beneath the "L's" and preparing for yet another summer season's of "harvesting grass" here! Hi Hi |
VE3EDY | SO LP 160M | I used my home made mobile antenna at zero elevation with one ground radial and my TS940 Tough contest on the second night with heavy static crashes but worth the fun. |

VG7G | MM | Once again this contest proved to be a lot of fun with activity on all bands, surprisingly even on 10m. The Coquitlam and Surrey Amateur radio clubs collaborated to use the special events call VG7G commemorating the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The contest was primarily run EMCOMM style using generators and portable towers with 3 high power stations on the air using 2 yagis an R8 and a variety of wire antennas. The event was also used as an opportunity to introduce a number of newcomers to contesting including some teens and "not so teens". Copious quantities of steak were sacrificed to the BBQ gods on Friday and Saturday night with tons of junk food consuled in between! A good time was had by all! Many thanks to Icom Canada for the loan of a nice new IC7700 for the event. |
