VE7FCOSO LP ALLNice to work a New Country. Great to hear and work Europe again.
VE7NAMSHWe had a lot of fun in this Contest using out Vintage FT-101ZD and teamed with FL-2100B amp. A lot of new hams got their feet wet in this contest.
VE7RSVSO LP ALLFirst time entry and learned the limitations of using 100 watts and a G5RV antenna. Operated from Broughton Island NA-091 with a FT-857. Only made a few contacts but some new countries for me, even on 15 metres. Will be back next year, hopefully with a better antenna.
VK2CASO HP ALLNot much time but still lots of fun. Thanks.
VK2KDPSA LP ALLOne of my two big contests of the year, not really a great time for my rig to decide it only wants to put out 5-10watts. wow, QRP is hard!!
VK2KRMSO LP ALLOn 25th day of July 2006 I obtained my Amateur Operator's Certificate of Proficiency (Advanced). My last year as a Rookie next year I have to play with the big boys. Nice contest had lots of fun.
VK3ALZSO LP ALLThe propagation in my part of the world was terrible. Every contact required heaps of effort. There is gaps in my log but this only happened because there just wasn't any propagation. 40M was especially hard and I apolgise to WM2H (40M) for accidently deleting him out of the log! Thank you to all the stations who put in that extra effort to work my 100W and vertical (R6000) station. Cheers, Michael VK3ALZ
VK3IOSO HP ALLWith my long wire antennas and only limited time to spare, I found that the 10m band was dead, 15m band was OK, 20m band was good, 40m band was fantastic, 80m band was good and 160 was poor, with no DX stations worked, but a few heard, but not strong.
VK3NISO HP ALLWorked the full 36hrs. Equipment IC-7700, SteppIR MonstIR, 1/4 Sloper Heil PR781, Drake L7 @ 400w PEP. Many thanks to the US licensees above 7.200 who make contesting a pleasure with their patience, mutual respect and courtesy. Wx was kind. QSLs via EQSL and LOTW. Best 73 from downunder Mario VK3NI
VK3TZSO HP ALLA relatively part time effort. The bands were in pretty terrible shape and the noise at the home QTH pretty high as usual. The surf was pounding in at Pt Leo.... so the surf won and the radio lost. Surfed both days and then went to see "The Who" (Post F1 Grand Prix) on Sunday night after a surf and an hour on 40m LP to EU. Wow, what a weekend! Pity condx were so poor as I would have needed to sleep for a week if they were open!. You betta you bet! I tried but just could not get the last QSO to get to 200 before the end of the test...condx were just that low. Could have gotten a much higher score with more operating but with 27 deg C both days, no wind, blue sky a great 1-1.5m swell it was a no brainer which hobby/sport won out this weekend. Looking forward to more sunspots and a trip back to YJ8 when the solar flux is above 100 and I can make a truly decent score from there. Cheers all Tony VK3TZ
VK4BLSO LP ALL100 watts and wires had a great time, with better results than last year Worked a few new DXCC too. Thanks to all who listened for me
