M2WMSHExcellent contest, reasonable conditions, and a 10m opening too !!
M5ESA LP 40MK3 to low 40m loop
M5WSA HP 15MQuick play with Short Contest Call when 20m went quiet...
M6WSA LP 40MHopefully 2011 will be more than just a couple of hours in WPX.
M9XSO HP ALLMurphy, his cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters popped in for tea - one after another. Still had a great time though. Thanks Randy for organising a superb contest and to you guys for the Qs. Cheers, Terry, G4MKP/M9X
N1NNSO LP ALL3RD CQ WPX CW CONTEST
N2EIKSO HP ALLI should have stayed in bed!
N2FFSA LP ALLJust about the worst conditions ever in any contest! UGH!!!
N2LKSO QRP ALL5 watts and indoor attic dipole, I am amazed!!
N2SOSO LP ALLThis was my first WPX CW contest. Just S & P this time. I enjoyed it very much. On Saturday there was a lot of QSB on 20 mtrs probably due to a minor geomagnetic storm but Sunday it was a easy as shooting fish in a barrel. Worked several new countries. My station equipment: 8 Band Hy-Gain Vertical, Elecraft K3, N1MM Logger w/winkeyer USB. Thanks to all!
N3GD/4SO LP 40MS & P, ant sloper
N3UMSO HP ALLDisappointing to claim only 1.35 M points this year after claiming nearly 2.2 M points in 2009 in the same 27 hours. Propagation was mostly terrible: predicted solar flux 80, actual 73; planetary A index of 33 and then 19, K index mostly 4 to 5, minimum of 2 to 3. I started on 20 meters; at first I thought this was a mistake because rate was mediocre, but when I switched to 40 after an hour, rate was slow there also, much poorer than last year. Results were also poor on 20 M Saturday, even in the afternoon: I never got 100 QSO points in any hour Sat., while in 2009 I had 4 hours Sat. with 110 to 129 points. Sunday was only slightly better, with 2 hrs. of 136 and 159 QSO points, but still way behind Sun. in 2009 when I had 5 hrs with 104 to 150 QSO points. I made only 458 EU QSOs this year, vs 627 last year. In the end, my claimed score was 2.7% less than my poor showing of 1.38 M in 2007, when there were few to no sunspots. I did do just a tiny bit better on 15 m. this year than last year, so maybe there's hope for next year.
N4DXISO LP ALLBoth days, terrible thunder storms, had to QRT
N4FYSA HP ALLThis was fun!
N4MMSO LP 20MLittle time to operate due to family activities.
N4PSESO LP ALLPlayed golf twice during contest; not sure which was worse, band conditions or my golf! But I still improved my WPX score vs. 2009 with less operating time. Only good conditions seemed to be late Sunday - just as I got home from golf! I missed most of it. New rig and a roof mounted Butternut seemed to yield much more productive CQ'ing results with my LP station. I'll be back next year and maybe can stay in the chair a bit longer. Thanks to all for the Qs.
N4YHC/9SO LP ALLMy first CW contest. It was a lot of fun.
N5KWNSO LP ALLThanks for a great contest.. I really enjoyed it.
N6DWSA HP ALLStealth vertical and 500 watts -- mostly domestic points - almost no Europe.
N6MISO HP ALLHid a transmitter for our group on two meters and went Field Day style near Palm Springs.
N6WGSO QRP 15MThis run was sort of an experiment. I did a 10m SB run last year, so decided to try 15m SB this year. I did a great deal better than I had on 10m, so reasonably pleased with the results. Condx were not all that I had hoped for, but I worked enough WPX to feel the effort was worthwhile. I stuck around into the late evenings, in hopes of an opening to the South Pacific. No joy this time. Maybe another contest. Setup was just my K3 at 5w and a 15m EDZ up about 40 ft, blowing East and West. Now that the contest is over, I'm working on a second antenna that will favor JA and LU. Not sure yet what to do about ZL and VK direction. Some things never change. There were the really strong stations that would never reply to a call, and others barely copiable that came right back to me for a quick Q. Overall, the standard of operating technique seemed excellent this year. Thanks to all for the QSOs. Hope to see you on again. 73, Bob N6WG The Little Station with Attitude
N7EIESO LP ALLHad a great time! 10 meters was even open to CA and South America for 16 contacts. My 40 meter station didn't work, but 80, 20, and 15 were hot up in the NorthWest. CU next year!
N8BJQSO HP ALLMy lowest score in 10 yrs. Same # of Q's as 2009 and 150 less mults. Conditions were strange, and very noisy here. Nice to see 10 open up today. Mostly a 20/40 weekend. Never heard a JA or anything else from that part of the world. Had to take lots of breaks to let the swelling go down in my ankle. When the cast got tight and my toes started to go numb I figured it was time to get out of the chair and elevate. Expect my doc would have a fit if she knew I was sitting for 32 hrs.
N8HPSO QRP 20MLots of fun running QRP!!
N9AUG/8SO LP ALLYaesu FT-950 sending 100 watts to a Maxi Turner then 260' center fed zepp on 40/80/160. Trap dipole on 10/15/20
N9TFSO LP 10MJust enough time this busy weekend to grab a few minutes here and there. Focused on looking for two new DX on 10 meters to finish off 10m DXCC on LOTW towards 5bdxcc on LOTW. Good conditions to Central and South America every time I popped into the shack to operate for a few minutes. No new ones though for DXCC, DARN! Hope all had a good time. 73 Gene, N9TF
ND2T/6M2Big thanks to all the W6YX club members who helped to organize the contest, prepare the station, and fix amplifiers and feedlines that were not working when we operated in the WPX SSB contest. Shortly after the contest start we learned that the problem we'd had with our 6-element 20-meter Yagi in WPX SSB had not been fixed. It was still generating broadband hash when pointed in some directions so the C31XR became our only rotatable antenna for 20 meters. A fixed 5-element 20-meter Yagi on a 30-foot pole pointing toward the eastern US was used for most North and South American Q's. We thought our problem with working into Europe was because we didn't have our big 20-meter beam, but apparently everyone else on the west coast was also having that problem. We managed to find a few spotlight openings on 20, one to the Baltics and Scandinavia, others to Russia, Ukraine, and Sicily (but not Italy). Other than these few openings we only worked the big guns. 40 meters was definitely the band for accumulating points and 3254 of our 7239 QSO points were on 40.
ND3RSO LP ALLtoo bad bands were'nt better....had fun anyway
ND6SSA LP 10MPart time 10 meters, praying for sunspots. CU next year.
NF4ASA HP ALLThunderstorms, QRN, one of my broadcast transmitters having problems.....Murphy was alive and well and living with me this weekend.
NJ1TSO LP ALLNothing at all on 15 meters! 40 meters was fun but conditions very noisy
NJ4MMSHOperation from K5KG station
NM2L/4SO LP ALLAnother part-time effort, but a whole fist full of fun. Another good time. A couple of wire loops and 100 Watts and I managed to scratch off a couple of items on the XYL honey-do list. If Mama's not happy, nobody's happy. 73 de Greg NM2L
NN6NNSA HP ALLAlthough my operating time was limited by family obligations (sound familiar?), I achieved my main objection of testing my new SteppIR DB18E under competitive conditions. I am very pleased with its performance. Thank you Chet, W6XK, for use of the club callsign NN6NN. Station info: Elecraft K3 (fantastic CW rig) SB220 running 500 W max (neighbors!) SteppIR DB18E at 49 feet (love the 180 degree quick reversal) Writelog (worked AOK) Thanks for all the Q's. 73, Ron N6EE
NQ2WSO QRP ALLThanks to everyone that heard my QRP signal!
NR3X/4SA LP ALLA fun last hour, and a lot of playing with spot pouncing before that.
NR7DXSO HP ALLGood time again, what happened to bands tho?? No Europe Saturday or Sunday...nice to see 10 meters open for a spell too on Sunday..
NS0MSA HP ALLGreat condx for 18 months ago. Lots of State side QSO's, no EU's this year.
NT2DRSO QRP 20MFT840 PWR 5 Watts; Delta Loop
NU4ISO QRP ALLThanks to everyone who copied my QRP signal. A great contest and great fun!
NX4NSO LP ALLHad a lot of fun as a casual entry with in-attic dipoles and 50-100W. 40m and 20m generate just too mcuh RFI - whole house lights up. Nice to see 15m and 10m slowing thawing out from hibernation; even a dipole stations can have a blast. 73, Chris NX4N
OE2VELSO HP 10MJust a few points for BCC, 10m is still not as good as hoped
OG1MSO HP ALLLimited time for WPX CW this year - anyway this is one of my favorites

OH2LNHSA LP ALLRIG FT-897D, POWER 100W, ANT G5RV UP 10 METERS
OH3BUSO HP 10MIt has been a long time since I made 700 contacts on 10 meters. Looks like we are going to get some sun spots in no time at all. Good stuff.
OH6KSA HP ALLTransceiver Elecraft K3 + ACOM 2000A
OH7FFSO QRP 20MQRP plus 5W, GP
OH8LSA HP ALLQuite poor condx, not so many dx QSOs here....
