KL2RSO LP ALLToo many conflicts this weekend for a decent effort. What little time I did have, though, was fun.
KN4YSO LP ALLPart time on the air, 10 and 15-meters opened and I had a ball. Worked other bands as time allowed.
KQ2M/1SO HP 20MLots of activity and lots of fun at the bottom of the cycle. Contest should be moved to the weekend after Memorial Day for much greater US participation. Tnx for the q's! 73 Bob KQ2M
KQ4YSO LP ALLGreat fun!
KR4ZSO HP ALLTHANKS TO CQ - THIS WAS TRULY AS GOOD AS IT GETS. FORGET WORRYING ABOUT SUNSPOTS..WORRY ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE. CONDX WERE OUTSTANDING AND HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE 20M STAYED OPEN 24-HOURS A DAY? THANKS JAY, N4OX, FOR THE USE OF YOUR CLUB CALL.
KS7TSO HP ALLHere in Mt. 20 meters in May and June was only open to Eur. all day and night during this contest with many signals really S9 or better! From the day after the contest to end of June have heard only a handful of Eur. signals and sig levels way lower than contest - only big signal S9 or better on 20 from DX has been 9K2GS!
KV8QSO LP ALLAs usual, lots of fun in this event. Had some good success on 40 picking up lots of 6 pointers. Too much QRN on 80 to do any good there. 20 was its usual self. 15 opened a little bit but not anything to Europe from this station. Ten was a bust - 2 Q's there. If we get a few sunspots next year, I'll have to change my strategy. Thanks for the Q's and I'll see you all next year. Rig = TenTec Jupiter @ 100 watts. Antenna = G5RV @ 45'. Software = N1MM.
KX7LSO QRP ALLWho needs sunspots anyway? Maybe it's just a new antenna, but this is my best score ever with QRP. 20m just wouldn't quit in the evenings. It seemed easier to work the Europeans than to get a response from domestic CQ'ers.
KY4FMSHOperation from K4TD
LA1EKSO LP ALLI enjoyed this - my first participation in this contest May be I'll put more effort in competition next time.
LA2ABMSHSummer opening for 10 and 15m bands made contest more enjoyable. 80 and 160 m bands were a disappointment All in all: Very enjoyable!
LA8DSO LP ALLTook part only the last 14 hrs of contest. Only S&P operation.
LT5XMSHTS 450 YESU 2100
LU4MHQSO LP 40Menjoyable and exciting contest again
LW1ESO LP ALLThe intense and continuous industrial made noise in my station, impede me to improve my score. My regular call sign is LU1EWL, but this time I use the special call sign LW1E.
LW4DYISO QRP 15MAll QSOs were made in QRPp mode: only 500 mW output and internal batteries. I was able to participate only a couple of hours but had a lot of fun. Propagation was just horrible.
LX1ERSO LP ALLIcom 775DSP, 100Watt antenna G5RV
LY3VM2THIS CONTEST IS DEDICATED IN MEMORIAM OF OUR SILENT KEY LY1C because we partly used logging on paper, the transmitted number is not always consistent. Hope this is not problem.
LZ1FJSO QRP ALLElecraft K1, dipole, 27m wire via transmatch
LZ2JASO LP 15MRig; FT-100D 100 W Ant: 4-el Yagi
LZ8ESA HP ALLThanks to organizers and all participants for this nice contest. 73! Boyan LZ2BE
M0CEFSO QRP ALLRig 5 W, Ant 22 m wire. Hand-typed log. Just some QSO for fun.
M5AEFSO QRP ALL400 QSO's 53 DXCC's. Of note 6W1SJ Senegal worked on 1st call CU2X, ZY7C. I worked K1, K2, K4 areas and 2 VE and 4 JA stations all with 2 watts QRP FT817 and G5RV! Great Fun 73 Robin
M6TMSHPretty last minute effort. Mainly to test and get ready for WW. 40m seemed pretty good. Thanks for Qs.
M7ASA HP 40MSingle op entry this year. LY4L could not make it. Operated portable from Cockerham Sands, same in 2008. FT1000D plus 400W PA into 2el phased verticals. Big thanks to Newton le Willows amateur radio club for support. Special thanks to G1HIP and LY3QP. Contest started well, but lack of North American stations first night made it clear, that antenna is not positioned well. Made some changes on Saturday. What a difference 15 degrees could make! Much more like it on Sunday morning, good openings to the West Coast kept the adrenaline running high. Unfortunately, the operation had to be cut short due to generator failure , six hours left to run.Another mistake was to enter assisted category. Cluster added very few contacts and even less mults. Why did I use it? Remains a mistery to myself. Great contest, enjoyed every minute! Happy with the result, but could do better. C U next year! 73!
MM0GPZSO HP ALLJust trying to play on the highest band open at any time.
MM0YECSO LP ALLlots of activity made me have a vy gd time - tnx to all
MM3TSO LP 40MElecraft K3, 100W, 1/4 wave GP with elevated radials and 80m doublet at 40ft. Great fun, some local QRM but struggled on regardless. WX was fantastic so cut operations short.
MU/OZ7BQSO QRP ALLThis years operation was from Guernsey using my K2 and a short vertical antenna.
MU0FALSA LP ALLfamily comittments meant part time activity was great fun though
N0SXXSA HP ALLFinally got my station back together a year after moving to a new QTH! This is a great contest format. Lots of fun being able to work the local contacts as well as the world wide contacts, lots of multipliers and I love the overlay category for us guys with simpler antennas. I'd like to see another version of the same contest that runs 24 hours!
N1NNChecklog2ND CQ WPX CW CONTEST
N3UMSO HP ALLIn 8 years doing WPX CW, my third best score. Since my two best years were '05 and '06, back when there were sunspots, I consider it a moral victory to claim 2.1 M points this year vs 2.4 M and 2.3 M claimed in those years. Also, this year was much, much more fun than my last outing in 2007, when I got only 1.3M claimed despite operating 1 hour less than this year. QSO totals to EU this year were much more like '06 than '07. Also, I made special efforts this year to chase W/K multipliers when EU rates were poor, such as early Sat. AM when 40 m to the west gave much better results than 20 m to EU. Even worked 2 VK on 40! One feature of the quiet sun is good condx over the pole: I worked 22 JAs, 11 UA9s, an HL and a 4K, all on 20. Even made 25 QSOs on 15, mostly SA, my first since getting 11 in the '06 WPX CW.
N4AROSO LP ALLGreat contest, enjoy using simple wire antennas and low power.
N4DXISA LP ALLMy lucky A3S tribander worked a lot of new countries!
N4HXISO LP ALLAlthough the Carolina Windom was acting up for me again, it still was a great contest. I even ran quite a number of stations on 10M (if you call one Q every one to two minutes a run)! Glad conditions are improving slightly and can't wait until next year.
N4PSESO LP ALLfun part time ime effort
N4QQ/3SO HP ALLGot on to give PJ2T some points. Ended up making almost 500 Q's . No computer contest program, paper log...didn't even have a dup check sheet until I was forced to make one up after about 100 Q's.
N6RVSO QRP ALLWow! Europe QRP at the bottom of the sun spot cycle! Cool!
N7EIESO LP ALLThis was my seventh try at this great contest, and I always have a great time. 20 meters even opened to western Asia for a couple hours. CU next year!
N7VSSO LP ALLOpenings on 10 and 15 meters proved interesting.
N8WXQ/1SO HP ALLGreat fun. Enjoyed the Contest.
N9BTSO LP ALLSeemed like more DX heard here this year. They were not strong, but they were workable.
N9GBBSO LP 20MIcom 718, 50 watts; dipole
N9TFSO LP 80MWas planning more time to operate Saturday night in the hopes of finishing off WAS cw for triple play. As they say "best laid plans"! Due to a very busy day Saturday, my body decided it was more interested in sleeping than operating! I was very happy to work CU2X with 100 watts and low hanging short dipole. What a tremendous signal from the CU2X station, copied at 10DB over S9, congratulations! Station conditions: Icom ProIII 100 watts to Alpha-Delta DX-DD at 35'. 73 Gene N9TF
NC6VSO LP ALLExpecting the contest to be Memorial Day weekend I had already made plans for the actual contest weekend. This limited my operating times. I'll pay more attention to the dates next year.
ND3RSO LP ALLHad alot of fun....Can't wait 'til next year!
NE4MSO HP ALLHad a Blast!
NE5DSO HP ALLVery loud signals from all over South America on 80 meters.
NE8J/4SO HP ALLWhat a great contest. I wish I would have had more time to take part!!
