| 7J1AUO | SO LP ALL | This is my first contest I've done since my million point efforts as HL9YG and KD5YG/TF. Scrap those $#%@#$ amplifiers, and please listen to callsigns. Next time you CQ Japan and a 7J with a western accent comes back, check your prefix allocations, we are NOT IN Central America |
| 7M1MCT | SO LP 20M | To my regret, I lost the opening 7 hours for business. Then I was back to shack, did my best, and beat my record at last few hours! Anyway, thanks to S07NY for the new one. |
| 9H0DX | SO HP ALL | Limited space at the QTH (tnx Mark, 9H1GP) so only dipoles at low height could be used on 40m & 80m. Had a lot of fun anyway. |
| 9H3YY | SO LP ALL | It was a horror! Imagine: you go onto a Dxpedition, you call CQ Contest and no one comes back on the crowded bands! Further on, in the midst of the test we had to change farmhouses. |
| 9K2/YO9HP | SO LP ALL | Sorry for not being able to operate also on 160m. 15m band was great, but 10m was dead both days. |
| 9R1A | SO HP 15M | Although 15m was in good shape, unfortunately no US or JA runs. 9 radio(s) 1 Alpah is not my station description, unfortunately! Could not operate the amplifier at all times due to power cuts. Having to turn it off because mains voltage was going beyond 300 V is the other extreme. In spite of this, and sometimes exceptionally high QRN levels, it was a great pleasure to operate this contest again. |
| AA0SQ | SO LP ALL | Before I die, I would like to read John Dorr's "run through" of this contest if he ever operates from the black hole of Minnesota. Condx were terrible, but it's still an exciting contest. |
| AA7UN | SO LP 20M | The DX and their signals were excellent. |
| AA7VY | SO QRP ALL | Running QRP sure is different than running with full legal limit. Lots of patience from the other Ops. Looking forward to the increasing sun spot cycle |
| AA9IA | SO LP 40M | As always, I had a great time, but where are the American stations with all those terrific prefixes. |
| AB6YL | SO HP ALL | Switching for a listen on 10 meters on Sunday and finding some ZW's chatting, but nobody else on the band. I threw in my call and the opening was on. I did a quick S&P scan and worked everybody I heard, and then found a frequency (it wasn't hard) and established my only successful run for the whole contest - it lasted both minutes of the opening. |
| AC5GH | SO LP 20M | My first contest. A lot of fun. |
| AI2C/4 | SO HP ALL | Great 20 meter conditions - wall to wall 40db over signals both afternoons. |
| BG4DW | SO LP 40M | I enjoyed the contest with a small gun. |
| BY1QH/K1VWL | SO LP ALL | Everybody had a hard time with my call, and the computer also had a problem. |
| CY7A | SO HP 40M | Thanks to the nearly 900 JA's who helped make this contest fun on 40M. |
| DF7RX | MSH | We had a big snowstorm during the contest. 1st time for 20 years contesting WPX we had snow on the ground. Our youngster, DL1MGB make a snowman outside |
| DJ6QT | MSH | Band condx ver bad, QRM!! Hope next year everything will be better! |
| DL1RNH | SO LP ALL | 100 W + no turnable beam for higher bands = no chance to win. High Power Stations made QRM greater than 59 + 20 dB on every band. I don't know if I take part in 1997 |
| DL8BEV | SO LP ALL | Hello, I'm 18 years old and this is for me the first contest on the SW. Super contest. |
| EA3ALV | SO HP 80M | At Sunday early morning, a spring allergia goes to QRT my throat. SWL follows but we'll heard us in CW next month! |
| F5RAB | SO LP ALL | It took very long time to catch S92YL (new one for me). |
| G0KRL | SO LP 20M | First time in the contest. Four new all time countries, 17 new band countries and numerous new prefixes, plus a heck of a lot of fun along the way. |
| G4NXG/M | SO LP ALL | TE1C was my best DX ever on 80 metres mobile and HC8A on 40 metres gave me my 150th zone worked while operating mobile. |
| GD/AI5P | SO LP 20M | Hardest work for those contacts I've had in a long time. |
| GM6MD | SO HP ALL | Just playing around in the contest with our new club call. Only 4 GM6's in existance at them moment for HF use. |
| GW4BLE | SO HP ALL | Big problems with 80 metre antenna = only 23 QSO's on the band; must have cost me at least 400 contacts!! |
| HA0DR | SO QRP 20M | This is the first time I tried QRPp, but my neighbours and my good relationship with them forced me to do this. It was fun, real fun. This was a great experience after so many years spent with high power operating HG0D before. |
| HH2PK | SO HP ALL | Doesn't matter propagation is bad - contesting is still fun. I always want to quit at the beginning, but when the score starts going up, my feelings change. CU on CW. |
| I6NOA | SO HP ALL | Always a nice contest, even with a small setup and vertical antennas is possible to have great fun. |
| IK7WPD | SO LP ALL | Good contest but the rig is old and I'm happy for the few contacts. |
| IO2A | SA HP 40M | First experience with my new antenna just ready for WPX (3 el. quad dual driven W6PU). WOWWWW! 40 meters became easy. |
| IR1A | SO HP 40M | For the first time I have participated to this contest like single operator 40 meters and I had the time of my life. |
| JA6BIF | SO LP 15M | Tnx FB contest. Condition is not good. I operated on 18 hr. |
| JH1GNU | SO QRP 80M | The band condition was not too good, but West Coast signals were reasonably strong for QRP work. HC8 and YC contacts were really my good surprise. |
| JH6SQI | SO LP 20M | I enjoyed WPX in new shack for contest facing W about 300 meters above sea level. |
| K0CS | SO HP 160M | First time in three years we were not threatened by thunderstorms. |
| K1DWQ | SO HP 20M | It was really nice to hear some old friends again, especially KL7RA. This contest is FUN!! |
| K3MD | MSH | Operators John, Mike and Liz Thompson, K3MD, N3PUR & N3NWN, ages 46, 13 & 16 |
| K4UK | SO LP ALL | First time I have entered this Phone contest - great fun. Will be back again next year. |
| K5ZD/1 | SO HP ALL | It was impossible to find a clear frequency on 20m! |
| K7QQ | SO HP ALL | Conditions sure were weird, for solar flux. Big surprise was 7X2LS and 9H0DX answering my CQ. When a new category for over 60 year old ops?? |
| KB4GID | SO HP ALL | Nice contest as always. It is fun to hunt for the unusual prefixes which make the contest interesting. |
| KC5RMW | MSH | Fun contest, new call next year. |
| KC6X | SO HP ALL | Nice to have a new Tribander/Single element class available. Maybe now I'll have a chance. |
| KD1YN | SO LP ALL | Great test. Nice to work 9M8, HS5, S07 with low power. |
| KD4BK | SA LP ALL | Best score and best contest all year. |
| KG6LF | SO HP ALL | New categories seemed to encourage lots of new activity. Good to see an opening on 10 meters. |
| KG8PE | SO LP ALL | I had a wonderful time operating this contest. This is the first time that I have operated this contest competitevely. I can't wait to operate it when sunspots come up. (age 12) |
| KI4KR | SO LP ALL | Remember when 10 meters would open? Will it ever open again? |
