K2DSLSO LP ALLPhone contests give me a chance to hear the voices and say hello to those we work a bit more methodical in CW & RTTY contests and it's always nice to have someone recognize you and say hello, even in a pileup. This is the last contest I think I can sneak in as a rookie so we'll see how that stacks up against the others. It is a great contest and conditions were good. 40m felt stronger Sat morning then Sun morning but very workable. 15 was a nice break from 15m and 10m had some activity. 20m was wall to wall noise (non-directional antenna if that even matters). For a real break I'd pop over to 40m and work some new ones each time and there were always new ones calling CQ. Called CQ on 15m and 40m since there was room there. Did pretty well on 40m too. Terrific ops - everyone was friendly, respectful and patient. There were some impressive serial numbers being given out on Sunday by the big boys. Ok, time to process the log and stretch my legs. Thanks for all the Q's! Equipment: Kenwood TS-2000 w/ 100w - Antenna: G5RV
K2PO/7SA LP ALLGreat to have the bands open again! Couldn't work any Europeans on 20m during the day - they were jammed on top of each other, creating a noise floor that was too high for small signals like me to penetrate. Finally got a run going in the last hour (my best run of the weekend). Missed the first 5+ hours of the contest due to a conflict. 'Looking forward to CW in May. Rig: TS-850, paralleled 80/40/20 dipoles at 45.' (I'll enter as TB-WIRES overlay, but no tribander.)
K3GENSO LP ALLStation consists of Yaesu FT-757GX and Tarheel 100A-HP vertical antenna
